Sony Ericsson: Breakdelics – “Da Phunk”

Here’s a music promo that was the culmination of a long campaign to promote the Xperia mini and mini pro. Both these phones have diddy little touchscreens and the TV campaign used the idea of fingers dancing across the screen to get that point across.

They found a YouTube fingerdancing legend from Israel and her fingers featured in the TV ads. We then challenged the public send us their fingerdancing videos and take part in Battle Fingers on YouTube. The winner was a Spanish guy called Elian and his prize was to star in the music video to the song that accompanied the TV commercial. Got all that?

It was shot in 2 days in a studio in Stockwell. We didn’t to Brooklyn or the Bronx at all. Amazing!

Here’s the entry I did with my son – as I worked on the project I wasn’t eligible to win anything but as you’ll see, ours was definitely the best…

Last in space.

This is hardcore parking news. I’ve had complaints that I’ve wandered away from the business of actually parking in Stevenage. So brace yourselves: this is PiS in the raw.

I arrived at Swingate at my regular time (look out for me at about 7.58 web fans!) but it looked as though the green Almera had taken the last spot. But wait! There was a really tight spot that I really needed God to lift my toy Focus into.

Then I remembered he doesn’t exist – or at least won’t perform miracles for non-believers in Swingate.

I pulled a 7-point parking manouvre forwards (arguable harder because of the relative turning circles) and had my car safely parked while green Almera was still buggering about. Manliness confirmed. What a way to start the week!

Poppy sale.

Today is November 12. Yesterday was Remembrance Day. But that little detail hasn’t deterred one plucky poppy seller from turning out at Stevenage station this morning.

Bless him, I didn’t have the heart to take a pic of him – after all, he’s doing a super job, going above and beyond, etc. But it did make me wonder. Is this going to be a year-round thing? I thought it was just a seasonal thing like Cadbury’s Creme Eggs and er… poppies.

And if it’s not, are they offering them at a discount now like fireworks on November 6? The thing is, there’s no official price, so do you give half a donation? And would it be mean to buy a job lot now ready for next year. My mum does that with Christmas cards you know.

Do not feed the platform.

Is this the start of an asphalt zoo? Possibly not. These are sitting at the north end of Platform 1 (I’m sounding like a station announcer now).

Presumably someone in a hi-vis vest will come along and free these slabs and make them part of the existing platform.

It’s not like there are slabs that are crumbling. There are a few older ones dotted about but that helps me position myself corredtly so I’m right in front of the doors when the train stops. Two steps to the left of the two brown slabs to be precise.

Come Monday I won’t know where I am…

Dogging in Stevenage.

It’s always fascinating (to me) to see what search terms have brought viewers to my corner of the internets. And today was no exception. As we all know, all human life is here online with all its ‘niche’ interests. Including dogging.

I’ve mentioned the word once (and not in reference to anything I might be interested in) but once was enough to see me to go top of the Google charts when someone looked for “dogging in stevenage november 2010”.

"A new entry, straight in at number one..."

I feel a curious sense of pride. If this post has brought that particular browser back here, apologies twice over as I doubt you found what you were looking for. Best of luck with it though!
